Christmas Lights Around North County San Diego 2019

Flashing icicles, inflatable reindeer, and snowflakes that transform the darkness of night into an exciting prelude to Santa’s arrival are a key part of the holiday tradition.
To keep the tradition alive, here is a list of North County San Diego’s best homes and events that go all out when it comes to holiday lighting and decor. Pack the family into the car and drive by any of these locations to be awed by the twinkling lights and joy of the sea.

  • SANTA BY THE SEA – DEL MAR VILLAGE

Dec 8th 3-5pm Holiday Tree Light

  • WINTER WONDERLAND FESTIVAL – ESCONDIDO 

Date: December 7, 2019
California Center for the Arts brings the North Pole to the heart of Escondido. So that, children will have the chance to frolic in real snow, create winter-themed arts and crafts, and even rendezvous with live reindeer!

  • PARADE OF LIGHTS – OCEANSIDE HARBOR

Date: December 7, 2019
Watch the season sail by at the Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights in December. The popular parade circles the harbor and features a wide variety of boats, brightly decorated for the holiday season.

  • HOLIDAY PARADE – ENCINITAS

Date: December 7, 2019
Thousands of people will be on floats and in bands with tens of thousands more cheering them on as the Encinitas Holiday Parade rolls along Coast Highway 101.

  • CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK – POWAY’S

Date: December 14, 2019
Celebrate holiday cheer with Poway’s Christmas in the Park. The event features a tree lighting ceremony, visits from Santa, train rides, live music, theater performances, food, treats, crafts and more.

  •  HOLIDAY LIGHTS – SAN MARCOS

1639 Knob Hill – off Nordahl Rd. between Tam O’Shanter Dr. and Augusta Dr. Nov. 26 through Dec. 31, 5 to 9 pm. Disney characters and more. Santa will be out from 6 to 8 every evening Dec. 11 through Dec. 23, except Wednesdays

  • HOLIDAY LIGHTS – CARLSBAD

Dec. 14th, 2019 Community Party
6646 Elegant Tern Place  So, Add magic to the season by stopping by Elegant Tern Place and letting your little ones drop off their wish list to Santa via Santa’s mailbox. Because, Santa writes back to everyone. Personalized letters will be returned to every child who delivers a note. Christmas village, and a little vignette with snow friends.
The yearly community party will be outside on December 14, 2019 from 5:30pm-10pm with a special visit from Santa Claus himself. Crafts, bubbles, music, hot cocoa and mulled wine, and fresh spun cotton candy for everyone.
Lights go on from 5:30 – 9:30 every night. Santa’s mailbox will be curbside from December 1st through the 23rd so Santa’s elves have time to get the kids’ letters from Santa to them before Christmas day.
So as you can see, there are plenty of festivities and entertainment to usher in a sense of merriment in North County San Diego this season. But, the holidays only come once a year, so keep this list handy to make sure that you are experiencing everything there is to offer between now and the New Year.
