Free TGIF Concerts in the Parks is a win-win for Carlsbad Food Tours. We get to have our product highlighted during the concerts and we also get to go to free concerts all summer, how fun it that.

Founded in 1987 and formerly known as the Carlsbad Arts Associates, we remain committed to our original mission: to promote and support the programs and activities of the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office.

TGIF Concerts in the Parks
A free summer concert series that highlights top-notch local, regional and national performers weekly in a beautiful park setting offering plenty of open space to dance and picnic, plus overall fun times!
Three-Part-Art
Three-Part-Art program is an educational outreach program designed to introduce Carlsbad youths to the experience of interacting with and learning from original works of art. >
Family Open Studio
Art-making programs offered in conjunction with Cannon Art Gallery exhibitions.>
About TGIF
With the inaugural concert in the summer of 1986, the TGIF series was founded the same year the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office was established. For over 25 years, the series was known as TGIF Jazz in the Parks, and featured jazz musicians from San Diego, as well as across southern California and nationally.
Those first concerts presented lively music and a few hundred music fans came to have a good time in city parks, like Magee, Holiday and Pine Avenue community parks. In the years following, TGIF’s audiences grew – in 2016, over 30,000 friends and neighbors gathered together to enjoy these diverse musical experiences presented in the four largest parks in Carlsbad.
New amenities and activities include Family Open Studios at all nine concerts, food vendors to satisfy cravings for the whole family and acquiring a state of the art mobile stage in 2016 to provide an improved concert experience for our musicians and audiences alike.
TGIF would not be possible without the support of many; it really does take a Carlsbad village!
