7 Reasons Why Supporting a Charity is Good Business

Charity

More businesses are discovering advantages of supporting charitable causes with corporate donations.  Here are 7 reasons why your company should support a charity:

1.  What is good for the community is good for your company

Supporting a local charity will build respect and your reputation in your community.  It will also make your community a better place to live and work. Giving back to your community will help to improve local parks, schools, making them a safer place to play and learn.
Charitable contributions have numerous benefits, but the most important one is obvious: you should give back to your community.

2.  Giving Back is also Good For You

One of the biggest benefit of having your business support a charity is the feeling you get from giving to others.  Small businesses helping each other can make the world a better place to live in.

3.  Increased employee morale/team building.

What a better way to rally your team than to get them involved in fighting for a good cause. When your company chooses to contribute to charities, it gives your company a bigger purpose then just to be making money.

4.  Increased Marketing

Charitable sponsorship is a great way to do good in your community, while also gaining marketing experience. Donations put your company’s name out there, especially if you sponsor some kind of event. Just make sure that the event or charity mirrors your own company’s goals.

5.  Tax Deductions

One of the most immediate benefits of corporate donations is a tax deduction. You may not instantly see how your contribution benefits your community, but you will quickly notice the tax savings. Of course, businesses shouldn’t donate with the sole expectation of financial gain, but there are fiscal rewards for helping a charity in need.

6.  Consumer Perception

You will gain a positive image from your customer the moment they see you are involved with charities.
You will also be associated with the charities you involve yourself with.
The will help to build strong customer relationships- It will go a long way to creating a bond between your business and consumer.

7.  Networking

Being a charity raising business means you are likely to find common ground with someone that you are networking with, which helps interact when you have something to talk about that you are both interested in.

‘Giving back’ is good for the soul … and in many cases, good for the bottom line
